
QP SERVICES & INSPECTIONS FOR CITY OF VANCOUVER
The City of Vancouver defines a qualified professional (or QP) as a professional that is an active member of a recognized professional body and experienced in the recognition, evaluation, and control of hazardous materials that may be encountered during demolition or renovation work, including asbestos.
Lotus is a recognized QP within the City of Vancouver in regards demolition of renovation of hazardous materials.

Qualified Professional - QP Services of Vancouver

Provide a degree of project oversight to ensure hazardous materials are being managed in accordance with all applicable regulations

Complete the Qualified Professional Declaration Form.

Conduct a pre-demolition hazardous materials building inspection (HMBI) in accordance with WorkSafe BC regulations or review and evaluate a third party HMBI

Review the Notice of Project and safe work procedures submitted by the abatement contractor.

Perform air monitoring and air clearance during abatement or review third party air monitoring and air clearance results.

Complete and collect all other necessary documentation for the salvage and abatement permit

Perform a post-abatement inspection to ensure the removal of all asbestos-containing materials, including the clearance inspection documentation.

Complete and submit the COV HMRF (City of Vancouver Hazardous Materials Reporting Form) along with the required documentation to obtain approval for the demolition permit.
