CERTIFIED LEVEL S (formerly AHERA) BUILDING INSPECTOR

A Level S / AHERA building inspector is a trained and accredited asbestos professional.  As of 2024, the new designation of "Level S" is required for any Asbestos Surveyor working in British Columbia.

A Level S Certified (formerly AHERA) building inspector falls under the list of qualified persons who are competent to manage asbestos-related activities in the workplace.  A Level S certification is required for anyone conducting surveys of any location that would be considered a "workplace" for the purpose of removing or abating asbestos when it is suspected that asbestos-containing materials may be present.

The WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety regulations (OHS20.112) states that “before work begins on the demolition or salvage of machinery, equipment, a building or a structure, or the renovation of a building or structure, all employers responsible for that work, and the owner, must ensure that a qualified person inspects the machinery, equipment, building or structure and the worksite to identify the hazardous materials if any”.

As a Level S (AHERA) Certified Building Inspector, we are accredited to complete hazmat assessments and surveys, Sample for asbestos, lead and other potentially hazardous materials, and conduct fit tests for respirators.  Lotus Environmental regularly works throughout Metro Vancouver, including North & West Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, Coquitlam, Tri-Cities, Maple Ridge, Delta, Surrey, and Langley.
