WHAT IS DOP TESTING?
DOP testing measures the efficiency of HEPA or ULPA filters used in environments where air quality is critical, such as cleanrooms and healthcare facilities. It involves dispersing a challenging aerosol called DOP, consisting of synthetic oil particles sized at 0.3 micrometers—the most penetrating size for HEPA filters.
The filter is exposed to controlled airflow, and the concentrations of DOP particles before and after filtration are compared to determine filter efficiency. HEPA filters must achieve a minimum 99.97% efficiency for 0.3 micrometer particles.
DOP testing ensures filters function properly, remove particles effectively, and maintain desired air quality, protecting against contamination.
